
Savage Blade is a Canadian heavy metal band hailing from Nelson, British Columbia, formed in 2007. The band draws inspiration from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) and classic metal bands of the early 1980s.
Formation and Early Years:
The band was founded by guitarist/drummer Eric Hoodicoff and bassist/keyboardist Christopher Rand. They were later joined by lead vocalist Nikko Forsberg, guitarist Marc-André Hamelin, and drummer Chris Killeen.  
Debut Album – “We Are the Hammer” (2009):
Their debut album, “We Are the Hammer,” was released in 2009. The album features tracks such as “Night of the Blade,” “Merlin,” and “Stallions of the Highway.” It was initially released independently as a limited edition vinyl LP and later re-released worldwide through Germany’s Pure Steel Records.   
Musical Style and Influences:
Savage Blade’s music is characterized by vintage riffs, pounding rhythms, and powerful vocals, reminiscent of early ’80s metal. Their influences include bands like Saxon, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden. 
Subsequent Releases:
Following their debut, the band released their second album, “Angel Museum,” in 2014, continuing their commitment to traditional heavy metal. 
Current Status:,
Savage Blade remains active in the metal scene, upholding their dedication to classic heavy metal sounds. The Blade is excited to announce the upcoming release of their third album; “Oath of Blood”, expected to hit the masses in late 2025.
