Born out of a shared passion for heavy music and an unrelenting drive for creative expression, Story of a Stranger formed in 2021 with a mission to push the boundaries of modern metalcore. Drawing from years of collective experience, each of the four members brings a deep attention to detail and a relentless work ethic to every aspect of their sound.
With their dynamic fusion of crushing screams, soaring clean vocals, and hard-hitting instrumentals, Story of a Stranger is not just a band, but a call to action. Their music carries a message: it’s time to open your eyes to the world around you and recognize that we, as people, hold the power to create meaningful change.
Story of a Stranger played their first show on January 25, 2025, co-headlining with Hidden Fates at the iconic Explosiv Graz. Shortly after, the band won two contests, earning them slots at Donauinselfestand AREA 53 Festival. At Donauinselfest, Europe’s largest open-air festival, they set the tone for the day with a high-energy opening set, while at AREA 53 they delivered an intense performance that had the crowd moshing and dancing – earning praise from local media and fans alike.
In November 2025, Story of a Stranger closed the year by winning the Local Heroes Styria Final, securing 1st place and earning a slot in the Planet Festival Tour playoffs – Austria’s largest live music contest. This victory marked their final show of 2025 and solidified their rising position in the Austrian metal scene.
