From Long Island NY, YOC writes music that floats somewhere between Metal, Hardcore, & Rock. Their songs depict trying times they have each endured and can evoke feelings of nervousness, anger, and desperation. On the flip side, hope & inspiration are paramount in the overall message that they try to convey.
YOC was started by guitarist Dan Buckley, bassist Joseph Micolo, drummer Steve Simari, and later joined by John Alaia on vocals. The band released their demo, unofficially known as the “Lightbulb Demo”, in 2004. The self-produced and recorded “Cycles Of Man” EP (‘05), and single “We Will Overcome” (‘06), was released after recruiting long-time friend Brian Calhoun on drums. In 2007, the band released the “A Blood Decree” (EP) which captured a more direct sound than previous offerings. As of 2022 their music can be found on streaming services. Vocalist Jon Buckley (brother of guitarist Dan Buckley) is now part of the lineup & a new album is currently being recorded. Singles from this album are planned to be released in 2025.
