Ice Nine Kills delivered a major live surprise this week, bringing out rising artist MAPHRA during their set to debut the “Scream 7” track “Twisting The Knife” for the very first time.
The moment took place on May 7 at the ‘Welcome To Rockville’ festival in Daytona Beach, Florida, where Ice Nine Kills continued their horror-themed live spectacle with a special guest appearance that quickly became one of the weekend’s most talked-about highlights.
MAPHRA, who has been building momentum online through viral metalcore covers and growing chart traction, stepped in to perform the parts on “Twisting The Knife” originally handled by Mckenna Grace in connection with the upcoming film “Scream 7.” The performance also marked what is being reported as MAPHRA’s live debut, adding another layer of significance to the appearance.
The band didn’t stop there. During the same set, Ice Nine Kills also debuted their recent Grave Diggler single “Hell Or High Slaughter” live for the first time. The track, released under the band’s horror-inspired alter ego project, is framed as being written by a fictional 1980s glam metal act “formed” by the members’ fathers — a tongue-in-cheek concept tied to the promotion of “Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come.”
The set reinforced Ice Nine Kills’ reputation for blending horror storytelling with theatrical live performances, while also spotlighting MAPHRA as an emerging name to watch following her breakout stage moment.
