Incubus frontman Brandon Boyd has posted a new photo from the studio, fueling fresh speculation about the status of the band’s long-awaited ninth studio album.
The multi-platinum alternative rock outfit had originally planned to release the record in 2025 under the title Something In The Water. However, those plans were later shelved, with the California-based band opting to return to the studio to continue writing and recording additional material for the project.
Earlier this January, Boyd stated that the album had once again been completed. That makes the timing of his latest studio snapshot somewhat unclear — it’s unknown whether the image is a recent session tied to further refinements, or simply a throwback from earlier in the recording process.
Either way, the post suggests that movement continues behind the scenes as fans await official word on the band’s next chapter.
