While Incubus found mainstream success in the early 2000s with alt-rock radio staples like “Drive” and “Pardon Me”, that rise to multi-platinum fame came at the cost of the quirky, genre-blending sound that marked their earliest work. Before they became household names, the band’s fusion of funk, rock, and nü-metal could be heard across releases like their debut “Fungus Amongus”, 1997’s “Enjoy Incubus” EP, and the now gold-certified “S.C.I.E.N.C.E.” album released in 1999.
Over the past two decades, however, that eccentric early catalog has largely been shelved. Back in 2017, Brandon Boyd explained that shift, telling Spin that the band made a conscious decision to distance themselves from the rising nü-metal wave in the early ‘00s:
“We played S.C.I.E.N.C.E. so much for the first 15 or 16 years of being on tour… There was a period of years when we were knowingly rebelling against it, we were desperately trying to shake off the identity it had created around us.”
He went on to reflect on how that relationship has evolved in recent years:
“We started to fall in love with [those songs] again. I think we just needed a friend break. There’s still a couple that we won’t touch, because they’re just terrible. The songs we really do like playing are songs like “Vitamin,” “New Skin,” and “Summer Romance.””
But with a new member in the fold, the door may not be entirely closed. In a recent appearance on the ‘Talk Toomey Podcast’, bassist Nicole Row expressed a desire to revisit that heavier, funkier side of the band. When host Josh Toomey (of the reactivated Primer 55) asked about playing older material for the diehard fans, Row replied:
“I know, I know, I know. Everybody wants it and we never give it to them [laughs]… I made a comment about making another album like ‘S.C.I.E.N.C.E.’. Like, you know, let’s get back there a little bit. So, we’ll see. See if we can try to pull a little bit more funky/weird out in the world.”
For now, those hopes remain just that. The band’s upcoming ninth studio album, “Something In The Water”, is due out October 10th and shows no clear signs of returning to their earlier sonic chaos.
In the meantime, Incubus are continuing their live victory lap in celebration of “Morning View”, the 2x multi-platinum effort that propelled them into the mainstream. They’ll hit the road again this summer with Manchester Orchestra supporting:
06/25 Nashville, TN – Bridgestone Arena

The Mosh Network science came out in ’97, not ’99
By far their best album and sound.
Andy Calder I CONCUR!
Andy Calder agreed
Andy Calder experimental and original
Top 15 all time rock album to me
Please
I was hoping for a certain shade of green.
Never gonna happen…Brandon hates that era of Incubus.
Dexter Rotecki it hurt his vocal chords
Mark Gotwals a small price to pay for salvation
Make yourself at least if not science
Brian Bayer honestly Make Yourself is where their fanbase dropped off and the mainstream audience took them in
Vanessa LutzACLOTM was fire.
Brian Bayer exactly. Or even something in between science and make yourself, would great.
Yes!!!!
That would be the dopest shit ever… But they ain’t gonna do that. Once that pop rock money started coming in they never went back. Science was the best for me, but I did like a few cuts from after albums.
Shea Atkinson yea but they have it already so he’ll yea they can!
This girls outstanding.
Yes I agreee with her !!
This makes her the most important member of the band.
Gloria Fry 👀👀👀
EJ Ramos yuuuuuummmmm
Gloria Fry 😂

This makes her the coolest member of the band. Because they basically ignore their youthful talent.
Timmy Halischak and you know this how? Lol quit talking like you know what’s going on
Kacy Ortiz the proof is in their shows. I know they play only one maybe two songs off that album in the last 15 years.
Kacy Ortiz you know you can look up their set lists and see that they don’t play any songs live from that era, right?
Do it!
Good wish but Incubus is a whole different path. I doubt that they would go back to the old sound. We had a new metal momentum and that was a great time for it, yet they didn’t do it.
I was there for those days. They won’t be able to match that.
Media: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10015290738556112&set=p.10015290738556112&type=3
It’ll never happen lol
Would be sooo dope
Just your for that album and play the whole thing
Eduardo Garcia Luna
Brian Plunkett yeah good luck lol
… that would require DIRK.
Jason Gardner I’m not related to you, but I agree
John Gardner lol
Jason Gardner it would require Brandon, Mike, Jose, and Chris, to a lesser extent, to want to go back and revisit more of those songs and that sound. She can play his stuff perfectly fine. It would be cool. But they don’t need to, at all. Their music is fine. How they changed is fine. You don’t go to a woman like, “i like how you looked 25 years ago”. Why is it okay to think bands can’t change? Linkin Park changed. Slipknot changed. Tons of bands have changed. Even Deftones have changed in their own way
Vinny Mastrantonio“Linkin Park changed” man. The guy responsible for putting them on the frigging map DIED, yeah. Slipknot changed, yeah they got immensely worse. Deftones didn’t change at all. They have been the only mainstream band still wholly sounding like themselves just experimenting with different types of songwriting. It has worked very well for them, like with Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokan, but they’re an outlier because not every band can continue making bangers. Incubus is one of them. I can’t even remember a good song off their last like 4 records.
Vinny Mastrantonio dirk lance wrote like 90% music for the first 4 albums( technically 5 if you count the e” enjoy incubus ” ep that was mostlyre recordings) , …. so yeah … it would require dirk…. because soon as he left incubus took a sharp left turn after morning view away from his funk style song structures.
Lucas Smith chester did not put them on the map lol . Jeff blue the manager/ producer ,who put chester in the band , put them on the map lol. Hence why Gray Daze only sold 10,000 albums.
Lucas Smith Chester didn’t and couldn’t do it by himself, they put each other on the map!
Vinny Mastrantonio All BAD EXAMPLES 😂 …..Stick to what you’re good at!
Vinny Mastrantonio change is fine. Incubus’ change went from awesome to suck with the exit of one member. That’s the difference
Jackie-Carroll Williams that’s what they call a distinction without a difference. Had Chester not been in the band, they wouldn’t have been important in American media as we know it today.
Jackie-Carroll Williams I love their “turn” . Beautiful music
Lucas Smith lol. Deftones have sucked for multiple records.
Josh Colenot. Koi No Yokan is one of their best selling records. Ohms has a ton of life in it. Gore not so much, but Ohms is their most recent and a return to form. Do you have any evidence against that?
Lucas Smith yeah. My ears.
Jackie-Carroll Williams booo. I agree he was great but you are also discrediting the rest of the band
Vinny Mastrantonio Chevelle never changed and they still haul ass!
Vinny Mastrantonio it’s been pop bullshit since Morning View so no their music is not fine it’s been trash
Jason Gardner and dreadlocks, and JNCO jeans.
Jim Moran 💯
Jason Gardner I seen them at the Lost Horizon in Syracuse, NY on that tour with Staind and Limp Bizkit. One of the top 5 all-time shows for me.
Jason Gardner And a 5string Warwick SS2 🔥
Pedro Sousa you know
Pedro Sousa oh look it’s the gear guy
Jason Gardner not necessarily
Jason Gardner hell yeah!
Jason Gardner not
Jason Gardner I mean it’s entirely possible she can play like him. I’d love to see Incubus do a call back to their first few albums they were wild.
Jason Gardner I’m like who is this girl? She wasn’t in no tracks I listens too lol
Jason Gardner why would it require one guy.
That’s dumb
Also none of this bands output is worth anything. Who cares
Jason Gardner band hasn’t been the same since Dirk left. 😔
Jason Gardner oh yeah because she’s a woman and she’s totally not capable of doing the job correctly right? 🤣☠️ dude she’s a pro and she plays BASS for incubus. What else do you need? 🤣
Jason Gardner I’m sure Dirk was a heavy influence of hers growing up
Jason Gardner FACTS
Don’t we all?
Tom Havel no
Steven Scott yes
That bass walk during the chorus of wish you were here is way way too distracting
Sven Lancaster wrong album
Brandon would never let that happen. He wouldn’t want to disappoint the sorority girl fan base.
Gary Belcher Brandon has actually stated that he is keen to go heavier but can only go with the riffs Mike brings to the studio.
I doubt it , think there way pasted that point in there career. They like playing alt live music these days unfortunately
Loved that + Fungus Amongus
Tanja Sofia Fuck yeah, best two albums imo
Tanja Sofia Fungus!!!
Tanja Sofia Agreed!
Tanja Sofia not many people know or even mention that album.
Jonathan Derrick take me to your leader
Isn’t this why Dirk left? Cuz they got away from it?!
Mitch Taylor he was let go because of his drinking problem.
Mitch Taylor He left because of brain surgery
Jim Burber he was after dirk, came from the Roots
S.c.i.e.n.c.e. is my favorite Incubus album, I saw them live a few years back and although it was a great performance, I was kinda let down they play zero tracks from the album live. And by kinda, I mean alot
Kenny Gryskwicz I saw them on the Science tour 5 times. They were great live back in 1997/1999
Kenny Gryskwicz thats surprising, they always play at least one
They won’t do it, they’re borderline ashamed of their early sound
Eric Sharpe it was the best. That’s the Incubus I fell in love with
Andy Mortensen when I bought The Fungus Amongus there was a loner note saying how they wrote it in highschool and don’t play anything like that anymore. Hell, they won’t even put that album on streaming services
Eric Sharpe when I heard Brandon describe it as cringe, part of my heart perished.
Eric Sharpe they still play those songs live
Can she play those bass riffs ? That was their best album . That would be killer .
I agree that Alex aka Dirk was a huge part of earlier incubus’ sound and funky riffs for the first few albums and we all appreciate the solid foundation he laid with incubus for their foundation and spring off point during the make yourself and morning view stardom.
With that being said she’s rips, was personally recommened by Ben & has wicked, monstrous bass tone and playing! Looking forward to heading them this Year Live!!
never going to happen
Me too
We all Hope for this!!🥺🥺
There’s no way they can do the SCIENCE sound. They’re too old now
I don’t know who she is, but I think I love her. Science and Enjoy were the BEST albums of theirs I had.
Yeah they got so freaking milk toast and processed sounding
They never play SCIENCE songs live anyway. 😢
Justin Horvatin yeah not anymore
Justin Horvatin just their shitty pop songs
Justin Horvatin they actually played 3 songs per night from it on the 2023 tour. That was a really strong setlist.
Nick Conner what songs? I was actually going through their setlists. Just saw they opened with Magic Medicine, which is more of an interlude than a song and that was it.
Justin Horvatin that, vitamin, and glass. https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/incubus/2023/huntington-bank-pavilion-at-northerly-island-chicago-il-43a4d7eb.html
Justin Horvatin they play Vitamin and Certain Shade a lot.
That was their best album
Enjoy Incubus EP is probably my fav – but no Dirk now 🙁 idk if they’ll ever get that vibe or sound back
Anthony D Samaniego
Ryan oh my Effing JEBUSSSSSSS! YESSSSSSSSSS!
that put incubus on the map, then they trashed out ever since….
Not sure she’d gave the chops for that. But go for it!
Unfortunately they’re content playing soft rock
Yes please
SCIENCE was the GOAT
Robert Van Ghle I used to listen to it front to back (even the secret tracks at the end) all the time when I was a teenager.
Trey Bloom dude same. I would fall asleep to it 😂
Robert Van Ghle yup!
Robert Van Ghle AntiGravity is the song that got me in the tent for good. So good. So groovy.
UPDATE. I just listened to SCIENCE in it’s entirety this evening.
It still slaps.
Robert Van Ghle completely agree. I love their whole discography but SCIENCE was it
Here for the douche misogynist bros comments thinking she ain’t got the skills cause SHes A SKirT
Cool, does that mean that Dirk Lance is coming back?
Do it, bring back that Thrash funk!
At this point it would just be a charade
No way Brandon will go for that
I feel her
considering that Brandon and Co removed all 808 drops from the live shows, i doubt they go back to when they were good
After Make Yourself and Morning View, Incubus stopped being Incubus.
Anthony Masuskapoe 💯
Anthony Masuskapoe they made some beautiful poetic stuff though .
Anthony Masuskapoe crow left of the murder and light grenades are both fantastic albums
Actually, they continued growing into themselves as they evolved. You just stayed stuck.
I honestly think we could be getting a 30th Anniversary Tour for SCIENCE in a few years. Been seeing more and more rumblings about them playing more from that album.
Big shoes to fill on bass.
Mike Tate lol you must have just heard of her lol
Mike Tate have you seen them live since she’s been there the last 2 years? She’s really good.
Mike Tate she’s an extremely good bass player. Most funk incubus has had since Dirk left.
Brynö Leppert good! Can’t wait to see it come about.
Mike Tate have you listened or seen any of her videos on YouTube or instagram? She plays slap bass very well. Ben Kennedy never could. Ben was great, but funk/slap wasn’t his style. Nicole plays funk and slap very well.
David M. Coffey Who is Ben Kennedy?
David M. Coffey she’s very good but she’s not Dirk or science and never will be.
Mark Mckim didn’t say she was Dirk. But she can play the funk and slap the bass, something Ben couldn’t/didn’t do.
David M. Coffey Ben Kenney darn phones don’t like his last name apparently. Mine almost “autocorrected” lol
Bobby Castello lmao I just noticed that! 🤣 I better go fix it
David M. Coffey Stu Hamm was her mentor at musicians institute.. She’s good friends with my ex-girlfriend and she is an awesome human as well.
David M. Coffey nah agreed mate. Ben is average at very best too.
Jared Maida pretty obvious I meant Kenney. Even when I type it now Apple tries to autocorrect it to Kennedy.
Mike Tate have u seen her play???
Mike Tate yeah, and she does.
Tomás Viveros hell yeah! Looking forward to it
Mike Tate she delivers, she’s not all hype like the Linkin Park singer.
Mike Tate who are you Mike?
Mike Tate yea Ben butchered those songs. Shoulda never played them
Mike Tate pretty sure they wouldn’t hire someone who literally wasn’t as good as the guy they’re replacing or the guy who did their first records lol
Mike Tate she’s been with the band for a few years already.
Mike Tate meh
Joe Cook
Best album
💯 agree
Crystal SalazDesiree Urbina
She actually looks like Amber Heard
Monrick Croes don’t sit in the front row at an incubus concert
Cory Munds last time I saw them was 2004 in Amsterdam
Monrick Croes but with talent
Monrick Croes why does that matter
Sofia Scott no offence, just sharing my opinion, hope she does a good job
Monrick Croes hopefully she doesn’t shit the bed.
Brandon’s voice is gone unfortunately. He struggles so bad. Stuff happens though. I’ll never forget when it came so easy…
Jesse Burky
John Britt

Brandon Flannery kind of crazy coincidence when I just recently figured out what they lost.
I wish.
A crow left of the murder is a masterpiece and so is light grenades and so is if not now when and so is 8. Just different eras and different styles within the genre. Painful how many ppl missed out on All of those great records and they stay stuck on science and morning view
Anthony D’Andrea Make Yourself is pretty GOATed too
Lucía Ravyn Laclair indeed, I actually love every incubus album for different reasons. The first 4 songs on make yourself always get me goin
Anthony D’Andrea Both albums are some of my favorites and wish they would play more tunes from them. 👏
Anthony D’Andrea I agree on everything you just wrote, except for 8 ..
Benjamin Badeau it took me about 5 play throughs of that whole album to really start loving it. It’s just very different from all their other material
Didnt miss out on anything. Their last good album was Science. Facts.
Greg Staab Can Confirm
Anthony D’Andrea ACLOFM was a garbage album. They were coming off the high of Morning View which they had rented a mansion and lived together while they wrote music. That garbage album they wrote in two weeks time after going on tour with bands they weren’t in the same genre as like Marilyn Manson. That is their WORST album to date and only had a few good songs. You must have jumped on the INCUBUS bandwagon after “Drive” came out. We’ve been here since the beginning.
Heather Reckers bro I’m almost 40, I like all of the albums homie. Chill out little baby. It’s okay if you don’t like it, but I happen to like every song on that masterpiece record and that probably won’t change. The lyrics alone are profound and some of my fav in the discography
Anthony D’Andrea trash
Anthony D’Andrea I’m being serious, I need you to convince me on INNW, and 8 (and Light Grenades to an extent). I had a hard time getting into them, and I’m a HUGE fan of early Incubus. COMPLETELY agree with you on Crow.
I lasted as far as Morning View -but can’t get behind much else beyond that. S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and Make Yourself are tops for me
Her and me and all of us as well!!!!!
Wait what
It’s what we all want.
Wow yeah that would require
Dirk
let’s get this marmaduke naked
Only good album they made imo the difference in sound later on didn’t work for me
Eric Edward
Daniel Rush their best album.
Daniel Rush bro its actually in my cd player in my car right now. The one I bought like 20 something years ago!
That is their best album. By far
Me too
Oh that would be amazing!!
BTW, 12 Foot Ninja pretty much picked up when SCIENCE left off.
I loved the bass playing from that era
An unsarcastic good luck. Wish her well Dirk was wild.
Morning View, that is all.
It would take Brandon to get his old voice back
Scotty Ray yes! Been feeling this way for a while now. He sounds way different… I can’t put my finger on it. The only thing I’ve figured out is the rest of the band’s sound used to be equal on the earlier albums (sometimes even more powerful that his voice) but in later ones his voice is isolated and it just doesn’t have the same effect.
Sarah Elizabeth Scott i had read that he had nasal surgery . He could only breath out of one side of his nose and once he had that done it changed his sound !!!!
My wife and kids love them we have seen them several times but the change is bad .
At least we have the memories
That bass in science is insane. I can’t believe it’s the same band.
I mean I think we’ve all been wanting a return to Incubus since Dirk left, haven’t we? Isn’t she just saying the quiet part out loud?
Chris Apaliski personally, no.
I like SCIENCE. Its a great album. I also think they are one of the best bands to exemplify the notion of growing and evolving. And again this is just my opinion but, of all my favourite bands, they are the most consistently good, in terms of the material they put out album to album. If they went back to that sound now it would feel like caving to what a select group of fans want, rather than creating art. I would love to see them add more songs from that era into their setlist (and arguably, they’ve been doing that, I saw them 2023 and 2024 and each show had a different SCIENCE era song). But going back to that sound for a new album wouldn’t be right, to me
Spencer Willock but their sound hasn’t evolved… if anything it’s devolved… into run of the mill easy listening garbage.
Spencer Willock Fair. I think my feelings on it are a little more complex than I lead on to be. I don’t necessarily want them to go back and sound like SCIENCE. But in my opinion, the band kind of fell off after Dirk left (Morning View is m fav incubus album). I say that as a guitarist too and not a bassist – that in my opinion they just lost something after that era. I’m all for evolving (thrice or periphery is my example of that) but I think to me, I just don’t love Incubus’s later catalog. They’ve had some good songs now and then, but I don’t connect with it as much as that early run. You’re right though, no point in not evolving so it’s good they’re at least evolving in some form. I just wish it had more “oomph”
Hell yes!
Same
Better quit and give the bass to Dirk then lol
Ryan Collier hahahahahah ALEX IS A BEAST
This would be awesome news
Problem is, they are missing the main piece too that puzzle. I love Nicole, but that’s no Dirk
New skin fking slaps!
Same
Media: https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fmedia0.giphy.com%2Fmedia%2Fv1.Y2lkPTk5OWFjZWFjdDVhMW5zbG00MjB4NGRlMHZucTh0MjV5eHRubnhkaGkxZnowZGZxbyZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n%2FaMh59aKR8vjdC%2Fgiphy.gif&h=AT3_7Ea_k_lGV_IOvIkxM_ipzn5qb444r5aJJtJWWluAR-vPCFHkUtsoi3cGGZHxazZzdSCBcXUu9ARcXSmekKpvXUqrYQ8kJMiHT5lnMs5ZJjqJNh_FfTx7eGmwmvQA&s=1
She’s rad!! Great Bassist.
That shit is not gonna happen incubus peaked in the mid 90s
If only. Those were the good days
Dirk didn’t leave after science. He left after morning view.
All of Incubus is good. Ben and Dirk are excellent players for different reasons.
Hell yeah!! That’s their best album!!
I like how she thinks!
she is a beast of a player and sweetheart of a human. i have tech’d for her on Miley Cyrus
Robbie Cope I saw videos of her performing with Miley! That’s awesome! How was the experience?
About god damn time
I’m over here wondering when did they get a female bassist? 🤣🤣 Definitely one of my favorite albums, but I love em all….. Can we bring back the sexy dreds, too?
Brandi Henderson Same!
Brandi Henderson serious I’m way out of the loop with incubus now, me thinking it’s still 2003.
Noe Salazar yeah, that album Morning View just came out right?
Bone Jawnson time is flying
Brandi Henderson wow I guess their longtime bassist is recovering from brain surgery 😳
Jeff Hanson he has recovered in the sense he no longer has a brain tumour but he has been left with permanent hearing loss.
Jeff Hanson oh shit. That’s pretty intense shit… I’m excited for this change.
Brandi Henderson new album coming, and the latest rehaul of Morning View XIII 🫡😎
Brandi Henderson early 2024. She’s an established touring and session bassist and damn good.
John Wagliardo that’s awesome. I’m excited for this!
John Wagliardo She played with them in ’23 as well, though she may have just been a hired gun at that point.
Brandi Henderson she was great at Rockville this year. I enjoyed their show much better this year than in ’23.
Jeff Brannan awesome to hear!
Brandi Henderson word
Brandi Henderson when Ben had a brain surgery
Brandi Henderson when Ben had to step away because of his medical diagnosis.
Thought the same thing about the bassist
Brandi – ben kenny step down after 20 yrs then tal temporarily took over until nicole permanently joined in.
I’ve been dying for that sound to come back for decades. Great band but man, the energy and unique sound they had back then was a different level.
Do we want to put that strain on Brandon’s vocals??.. he’s done so much for us already.. lol.
People should have stayed what they looked like in high school. They aren’t themselves after that and they look different and they sound different and they do different things.
Here’s hoping
Won’t happen. Brandon doesn’t like that era of the band anymore.
Wishing Ben the best
Yes please
She’s a great bass player. I would love to have heavier incubus back
Dear God please yes.
Ok.. rehire Dirk..
Yes please!! ⭐️ 🤘
incubus will never return to science/make yourself
that is a by gone era
I’d settle for a Certain Shade of Green being added back to the setlist 🤷🏻♂️
Doug Littlejohn arguably their best song ever
Media: https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fmedia2.giphy.com%2Fmedia%2Fv1.Y2lkPTk5OWFjZWFjMHlqemZhNjU0b3p3ZG11bDZ2M2twenpvZmQ2NGFkM2dzd3NoNjQ4YSZlcD12MV9naWZzX3NlYXJjaCZjdD1n%2FhTaG4Umz9bI8aJtfX3%2Fgiphy.gif&h=AT0HF7cQBGPLyHidqwX1XeDPdilJ3RHsyTyx45Yr_B1a30P-BJL03kJHwOtNE24WBqzSQ3nsVkem3_AhrF8Ib9IBqMmhTXv_Aqap26I3WthLwSQm7Byu8cIfOtIPMJB_&s=1
Please God! It’s like they totally abandoned it!
Better start working on that slap technique.
Larry Careaga
Grrrr…… I don’t wanna like her. Lol. But that is the wisest thing to come out of that band in years.
Don’t forget Enjoy Incubus sound
God please play more songs off science.
I love that album! Nebula is so chaotic and fun
please!!! Nicole can totally pull that off! Nicole is a beast on the bass!
Saw them live in mexico and she rocks, she is amazing and gives a lot to the band
My favorite cd of theirs. The one that made me like them in ’98
Then she should call up Dirk Lance and give him back his rightful spot.🤷♂️
Incredible bass player.
I recall seeing her perform with Dua Lipa
“Beware the Groove!” — Only way that happens is to get Dirk back on board. He was the spine of the groove, and as much as I still love Incubus, it hasn’t been the same since he left. Old man rant over.
Hell yeah
Theyre too old. Brandons voice is shot. Theyve been making contemporary moderate soft rock for 2 decades now. Theyre burnt.
I was lucky enough to see Incubus right after SCIENCE came out, twice. And both times System of Down played right after them. Holy crap was that amazing.
Yes yes and YES!!!!
Well I haven’t heard much past Morning View. Would LOVE a return to S.C.I.E.N.C.E
Except she can’t play S.C.I.E.N.C.E.
Bobby Kennedy you’re such an asshole, I saw her a couple of months ago and she definitely can GTFO.
Bobby Kennedy She 100% can.
Bobby Kennedy why not?
Bobby Kennedy neither can you, pick-on-bass guy
Vernian Don Martin Lemmy used a pick 🖕
Bobby Kennedy yup, and he couldn’t play the basslines in S.C.I.E.N.CE. either. What’s your point?
I saw them two weeks ago, she cannot. She’s good, but she is nowhere near as good as Dirk
Bobby Kennedy maybe not but she can defo bang it out. Great player
Matthew Partridge I agree. She’s good. But she’s not him
Bobby Kennedy suck his dick already
Bobby Kennedy she defo can mate.
Bobby Kennedy sure she can
Nice anything but the Pearl Jam Memorial retirement home they have been in for two decades
Nick Pasquarosa you probably already saw this
Oh dear god please!!!!🙏
I like her even more now
My favorite album is Morning View it is somewhere in between all their previous album before MV
So then give your spot back to Dirk Lance 🤷🏻♂️
Constant overplayer.. I distinctly remember watching phantom planet open for them and realizing that phantom planet was way more rock n roll than incubus could ever be …. they are like pop soft rock nu-metal or something
What happened to Kinney?
Had no idea she was their bassist. But I do agree.
Atleast she plays a badass bass
She ain’t no Dirk or Ben
Esteban Miguel she’s way better..
questionable since she hasn’t contributed to any material that would compare to the ones Dirk and Ben did, and as far as productivity, its tough to even say she is as well rounded as Ben when you consider Incubus + his solo work. At this point, she is more a hired gun than a solid contributing member with a distinct sound who has made her mark.
Ben can’t even do it properly when it comes to SCI or Fungus songs (if ever they did include it on their setlist before). 🤷♂️
That’s a big leap for her…the touring lineup of Panic! At the Disco to Incubus!!
She’s incredibly talented, I’ve seen her perform live.
I instantly love her if this is true but can she slap? Will it be as creative? Incubus first 3 albums are on that type of sh!t where it makes you wonder if aliens made that music and not humans 😂seriously though. Creativity in that era was on 100
Antonio Tito Melendez all the answers lie before you , with a 30 second search on youtube…
https://youtu.be/YR8CctpxWVE?si=OSSirniVp0yzfSzc
Science and make yourself is on another level
Fuck yeah! … but one I’d really LOVE to hear in concert is “Take Me To Your Leader” 🤞🏻🫶🏻
Mee too
Incubus fuckin sucks man. No disrespect to yall who like em but it ain’t my glass of beer.
The Elephant March
She barely got there…and now she has input on direction? Kids these days. 😉
In fairness, she IS a badass
Peachy Dee except all the old head fans agree. Mid to late 90’s Incubus was the best version of the band by far.
Love the people here who don’t know why she had to fill in, or for how long, and how perfect of a fit she is. If she says that, rest assured this new album will RIP.
Andrew Tyler mouth breathers just see a “girl” and just assume she can’t play.
Bass is killer on Science
Brandon will have to stop singing like he has a tongue depressor in his mouth. I just don’t see it happening.
She plays ‘Vitamin’ beautifully.
El numetal es tendencia mundial , asi que estan en el momento justo
Make Incubus Great Again!
Thank you Nicole
She is badass Live She Rocks
I would love that to death. Science was the utmost best.
Now that was an album
But can she bring the funk
A while ago!! Maybe like 2-3 years ago!! 😀
I like the most is science album.. The rest was just ok. I could have listen science all over n over again
So does every fan
Didn’t even know they replaced their old bassist?
Charles Richardson Hahaa, same 😅
Charles Richardson yer ditto
I seen rm yrs ago, and 1 time in last few yrs at a festival. Simple blue stage like korn. Didnt play the good tracks but.😶
Which album had s bluish cover? 1st or 2nd?
Charles Richardson he had a health issue which caused him to have to leave the band.
Charles Richardson years ago
Charles Richardson same
Charles Richardson I didn’t either
Charles Richardson she was supposed to be temporary but then Ben had brain surgery and decided to step away from the band.

Brandy no shit, I had I no idea. Thanks for that.
Was easy to be a fan of that guy. Dude was a vibe.
Todd Sills 1000% i saw them 2 years ago and have loved them since 2001…..wild switch up, but still an amazing band and he definitely gets credit for his time in 💯
Charles Richardson she replaced the last one because he got sick and wasn’t able to come back. She’s pretty good too.
She’s pretty good. Heavy on the bass. Saw them a couple years ago and getting ready to see them in chula vista
Charles I wouldn’t have known either, thankfully it’s been posted on this page 80 times.
Charles Richardson obviously not a true fan
Charles Richardson Thats when they changed their sound dramatically. Hopefully they find their way back.
Charles Richardson just found out as well. Big shoes to fill. Stoked to hear it!
Charles Richardson I saw her with the band live last year. Unbelievable bass player
Always listen to their discography backwards
, so they get better with each album.
Who is this?
Fernando Tejo González Una muy buena bajista de sesión que ha tocado con Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa y Panic at the disco entre otros.
Rodrigo Zamora Vale, no recordaba que el bajista se había ido
Yes!
I’ve been wishing they would go back to the S.C.I.E.N.C.E. era for 20 years…
Science was the reason I loved incubus, everything after that was the reason I forgot who they are
That’s by far their worst album
Not gonna happen.
1st the perfect gears
PRS, Warwick etch.
2nd Brandon’s voice
3rd we go back to the 1st No perfect gears No Groove No heavy stuffs!
Morning View and Make yourself still the best
Bring Back Dirk!
Shes no dirk lance
We hope!
Get DIRK back then…
Josh Vos
Additional effort for a SCIENCE album. Goodluck

In that case, she needs to leave so Dirk/Alex can return. He is the essential sound of Fungus and SCI.
This is the real incubus https://youtu.be/Fwgy-wT0blk?si=Q1TzHoI0AnlG6dJB
That would be awesome! Morning view changed them.
Yessss that would be awesome. Their best album!!
I prefer a mix of the Science/Make Yourself sound. Science was good but it was a little too in your face all the time. I like the mix of more subdued textures from M.Y. to be blended in.
Kristina Shelfer
Only good album start to finish 🤷🏻♂️
Science era was amazing
She is not wrong
Ian Gray A.
Christian Newcomer hell yeah!
Me too
They should get a decent bassist or just get Dirk back in the band
Matthew Sessions she was a world class bassist long before she ever joined Incubus.
Frank C. Morley doesn’t sound like it from what I’ve heard and she’s not in the same league as Dirk
Mk new music then I will come see you
Who knew incubus had a female bass player? I seen them 20 times never noticed the blonde lady playing based
Yeah well, she can’t slap like Alex and he was the entire reason their sound was good.
Now they’re pop
She’s an amazing bass player. She did lots of random appearances and collabs around the LA area in between touring with panic ! . She did scary pockets which is basically funk group that covers popular songs . There’s a video of her jamming with two other female bass players and it was 🔥. She absolutely has the chops for that old incubus style with her heavy r n b , Motown and soul influences.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lUnwNB5fj00&pp=ygUYbmljb2xlIHJvdyBzY2FyeSBwb2NrZXRz
We all have been
Yes, please. That is still the best overall Incubus sound, despite a few really strong later singles.
Brandon might be too soft now to get back to that intensity. Saw an interview with him and I thought he looked pretty run down. Hopefully his health is good and that he can deliver that old sound again. Probably their best album.
Saw her with incubus and she kicked ass!
Finally….someone in the band that hasn’t gone soft
I didn’t even know the band itself was still together and playing.
We hope too 😍
Unfortunately, Brandon’s voice can’t handle most of the songs from SCIENCE. They play a few every now and then, but to try and perform the whole album on tour frequently would probably be impossible for him….
Yes PUH-Leeze!!!! Love it all but those early albums are definitely it! And I think Nicole could pull it off no problem. But I think the guys enjoy the evolution of their sound that came with growing up.
Ben had to get brain surgery & stepped away
I do to, but I’m gonna need dirk lance 😅
Chase Locke to get your dick hard?
Science is their best album so I agree
Fran Wil
Make yourself was the last album of Incubus
Rainier Ryan Acebedo nailed it
Rainier Ryan Acebedo 😘
Rainier Ryan Acebedo they had a first album?
Rainier Ryan Acebedo 100%
Yessssss
Definitely not happening, but if the original members wanted to do that together, I’d be all for it.
will never happen without the OG lineup
Better call dirk
She’s amazing live
Isn’t that what got dirk fired?
Steven, jeg kan sgu godt lide hende af en eller anden grund!!
Kim Iversen ja tak!
Science is the best album by far
When we get there, we’re gonna fly so far away
Making sure to laugh
While we experience anti-gravity!!
I would love that
Me too. It was their best Era. 👌 all energy live. And Dirk was the greatest. Sad he’s gone.
Incubus YES!! 🙌
Yes please
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Hope they go back more… enjoy incubus
Sam Theobald Charlie Bell 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
She’s so talented and beautiful
My fave CD!!
I’ve been waiting for this for YEARS!!
Wait incubus has a female bassist? Since when?
Lesley Papadopoulos
John Campione hahah interesting! That would be right up your alley!
Lesley Papadopoulos haha.
I don’t know if that will happen as incubus came out and even said that they liked Red Hot chili peppers so much that they sounded like them the first few albums.
Band was never the same after Science.

Science was one of their best albums
We all prey for this.
But I also want Lance back then
bullshit. i’ll believe it when i hear it. science is one of the best 90s rock albums.
Maybe needs to encourage her band to recognise that the UK is bigger than London and I’ll gladly come and see a science tour. Sadly their last effort was London which was £600 / head for those of us who don’t live in south England.
And I wish I could see The Doors and Alice In Chains (WITH LAYNE). But not gonna happen.
MAKE YOURSELF
Please!! 🙏🏻 Science!, Make yourself! and Fungus Amungus! Are all some of the best albums ever written in my opinion 🙌🏻😎
Please!! Bring that sound back!!
That hope is why the original bassist left the band
NO DIRK, NO SCIENCE…sorry
I thought she wasn’t capable of it so they didn’t play any at their shows anymore.
Hired help that was 7 years old when science came out 😂🤣😂
Christian Lameda sad no one hires you?
Jason Acosta I don’t need to be hired… I’m good…my profession is in IT and military satellite communications..ive been in the army for 17years… Playing guitar is just a hobby for me.. Although I could go further with it if I wanted to… But I don’t want to by choice…
Let’s return to the fungus amongus days
I agree. Went too mainstream, and music mostly for the effeminate type these days
She is in the right mind. Their best album. And that was before Ben Kenny.
Yes please!!!
Uhhh no. Dirk is Dirk
David Share ooosh 🤪🪐🚀
Yesssss please
OR>>>they should just go away…
Media: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=23963141686649732&set=p.23963141686649732&type=3
I added her to our artist roster 11 years ago when I was working for a custom pedal board company. I put together her first board when she was with Kyla Stewart. Fun fact, she worked at Guitar Center in Northridge CA.
She’s a legend ✨
Please please please
BREAKING NEWS: Hired gun band member who joined in 2023 does interview.
Don’t we all
Band hasn’t been relevant since 2002
Incubus is a weird band. They created an unique sound in their second album , science, that was original, heavy and so interesting musically. Then they refined it on make yourself, bringing more melodies and adding some ballads and “pop songs”. So Morning view came with different instruments, very melodical, lost their heavy sound, but was still interesting IMO. When dirk left they started gradually to lose what they had created – mike changed his signature prs/mesa boogie sound to fender, the bass lost his funkiness, and the songs slowly became more and more boring (to me they lost their esence).
the “old” fanbase always claimed that science/make yourself sound again…and its funny, because in their shows they use
To play a lot of their old songs. I lost my hopes on that, and accept the fact that i don’t like their music anymore and they changed. C’est la vie
Zanelli De Amorim Caldas I used to listen science all the time. Then Make yourself was OK but I started losing interest in them they sounded different and watered-down.
Harley Schietinger they turned into a complete different band
D.I.S.C.A.Z.O.
Me too!
Rightly so!
The album that started my adventure in good music!!!! S.c.i.e.n.c.e will forever be top 3 albums
Finally
SCIENCE all the way. By far, it’s their best album.
Please don’t…
Incubus Bassist? Was there a change in the guard I was not aware of?
Whatever era you wanna call it, just put it out. hahahahah
Yes please
Science is one of my all time fave albums
If she’s down and can hang( tbh I haven’t kept up with them for a little bit) I’m with her on this. The fact she wants that sounds back for incubus tells me everything I need to know about her. 💪🏻🤟🏻
SCIENCE isn’t even her own music.
But, that is still their best album…
Yes, yes please!
Life changer album
Um dos melhores álbuns já lançado por uma banda
I fricken wish they would
No offense to the past bassists of Incubus. But let’s be real here. None of them can touch Nicole as she is extremely, and I mean extremely skilled. They can totally nail the S.C.I.E.N.C.E. sound especially with the resurgence of nu-metal today and harder music making a come back.
She is awesome. I’ve seen them twice with her and she kills it.
Mike Tate Bro, have you seen her live? Yes, she can!!! 🤩
One could hope
Bring back science!
YES !
Who the hell is she? She’s beautiful
We all are hoping for that. The last Pop album they made was just awful. We want Incubus! Not IncuPop.
Dirk was great, Ben was great. Nicole has been great filling in and will continue to be great on the new album. The biggest problem is going to be Brandon’s voice. He struggles pretty bad singing their older songs now…not because he’s a bad singer, but because his voice is changing as he gets older. He doesn’t have the range anymore. I’ll be really interested to see how they navigate writing a new album with the current state of his voice…but I don’t think he’ll be able to pull off SCIENCE-era vocals. I guess we’ll see.
Agreed!! They need to call Dirk Lance back!
YES PLEASE
That would be amazing
We all do…
Yes! Let’s get back to that harder, funkier stuff, just for old times sake!
And immediately I like her
Me too!!!
It would be great, but I really think that ship has sailed.
Yes!!! Have a word girl. And now we’ve had full make yourself and morning view play through shows, can we have a S.C.I.E.N.C.E. one too please
Mauricio Saenz
F bass, yesssssss
S.C.I.E.N.C.E. was always my favorite, saw that tour many moons ago in Birch Hill, NJ…so YES, more of that please!!!
That would be awesome 👏
Si porfavar
No Dirk no care
Yeah, no. Let the dudes evolve naturally.
Would be nice if they did
Rolando Moreno
Is this her bullgrape hump everyone is talking about?
https://youtu.be/5Woymt4e0Lw
Ugh no thank you .
Joan Carlos Aranda
I dont like people trying to fill the place that someone else left. She will never fill the shoes of Alex Katunich.
Instead of that she will need to bring new sounds
So weird when I saw Incubus in like 2003 this girl wasn’t in the band…
Oooh. I did see them live recently and she is definitely more Dirk era.
I have confidence she can funk it up as well as Dirk, but Brandon is too much of a douche canoe to tolerate that sound.
That’s not the bassist for incubus
Ben played too much like a guitarist, he overplayed too. Dirk had the feel, the space between notes, groove, tone, really unique style and creative basslines. It’s repeatable but will it be with the same creative subtleties…
That would be insane, it’ll never happen. Brandon too weird now
Rhys Kinowski
We all do
‘Make Yourself’ was their best album. I said what I said.
Chris Q. Rubio
Michael Rubio she can. But can Brandon?
They disowned the mat style because they didn’t want to be labeled nu-metal. So as much as I approve… good luck with that! Maybe coming from a female they won’t think it’s too frat boy!
Yesss
I love her already!
That is a top 5 album. 25+ years later I still rock it
She played phenomenally when I saw them a couple months ago.
Also she is hot as hell! Marry me nicole row!!!
same- for 20 years
I could use more shades of green
Best album they have!
Kay Kuever this is who we saw💪
There only good album
Does she also play bass for Turnstile?
Shit me too!!!
I would love for that to happen. Unfortunately, I dont believe it will.
Yes please
I don’t think that Brandon would hit those notes anymore
David Molina Elizondo uwu
That was peak Incubus
Please do not.
We all been hoping for that.
Yes…cologne is my fave incubus song of all time…was their best album
Been waiting for that since science lol.
It’s their best album by far!
Yesssss
Uhm where’s Dirk Lance?
Their best album, imo
Who???
Wow. Guess I Haven’t been keeping up on the band.
I was HUGE incubus fan. I’m an east coast-er so I found them with pardon me. But quickly discovered their backlog of great music. If not now kinda turned me off. I understand bands “evolve.” But that funk between Jose & Dirk was real magic.
can she do Glass?
Wait Incubus got a real bassist??
Love this. They haven’t made a good album since A Crow Left Of The Murder.
I’d actually see Incubus if they did that, and with her on bass it’d be sick
David Dewees
DUHHHHHHHHH SCIENCE & FUNGAS best era + a side of Make Yourself and Morning View = THE BEST
Not a chance
I wish!
I wouldn’t hold your breath. I know the singers into like the douche hippie Indy stuff now.
Plug the distortion pedals back in.
Best era of the band
Probably their best album alongside Fungus Amongus
Tell him to turn the really and auto tune off then.
Me too
Can she actually play the lines? Because the last guy couldn’t.
Incubus’s sound change makes me sad. Science, Enjoy Incubus have such a rad sound. Make Yourself is still a good album but there is a noticeable change in their style. Morning View is almost an entirely different band than the band that wrote Science.
She better start practicing.
Who!?
That would be great, but alas, they’ll never go back to that style
Fong please!!!
If only… Calgone was their best sound, hard, fast, epic. I don’t care for this artsy shit.
That she has zero to do with…just sayin
Don’t we all
The only Incubus show I saw was Lollapalooza when SCIENCE was just about to release or shortly after. There is no other Incubus to me. Any album after that is such a far departure it lost my interest completely.
I’d love that! And also…I had no idea Incubus got a new bassist. I guess I’m out of touch!
Me tooooo
