British technical death metal powerhouse Ingested have announced their eighth studio album, ‘Denigration’, due May 08 via Metal Blade Records. The record marks the first full-length featuring new vocalist Josh Davies, who joined the band in December 2024.
Leading the way, the band debuted a video for “Merciless Reflection”, featuring guest vocals from Damonteal Harris of PeelingFlesh. The single was produced by Nico Beninato at The Arch Studios in Southport, UK, and sets the tone for a record stacked with high-profile collaborations, including John Gallagher of Dying Fetus on “Watch You Fold,” Kyle Medina of Bodysnatcher on “Dredge The Dark,” and Skyler Conder (Varials/CELL) on “Dragged Apart.”
Ingested commented on the album’s scope:
“Musically, it’s us pulling every thread we’ve laid down over the years, slam, groove, melody, blackened dissonance, and twisting it into something that feels like a definitive statement rather than a reset. This is the sound of being dragged through the dirt and refusing to stay there.”
On the single itself, they added:
“‘Merciless Reflection’ lives inside the worst room in your head. The lyrics spiral through intrusive thoughts, religious disillusion, and self-loathing, turning over the same ‘barbaric cycles’ until you question if you’re chasing salvation or feeding the disease. Faith offers no comfort here—it’s another blade. Bringing in D from PeelingFlesh for those gurgling vocals was about honoring the sound we grew up on while planting our flag now. This is the old Ingested ugliness refined for today.”
