Jay Weinberg Teams With Code Orange Members For New Track “Drone Operator”

Former Slipknot and Suicidal Tendencies drummer Jay Weinberg has teamed up with members of Code Orange for a new collaborative track titled “Drone Operator.”

The song finds Weinberg working alongside Jami Morgan and Eric “Shade” Balderose, who unite under the banner NOWHERE2RUN for the release. The track is part of Weinberg’s developing solo project, which is shaping up to feature a rotating cast of collaborators from across the heavy music world.

For “Drone Operator,” Weinberg handled much of the instrumental foundation himself, performing drums, guitars, bass, and keyboards. Morgan contributed the lead vocals, while Balderose added guitar work, vocals, programming, and electronic elements that help shape the track’s industrial-leaning atmosphere.

The single marks the second release from Weinberg’s solo venture so far. The project first surfaced last November with “Sandstone,” a track that featured Deafheaven vocalist George Clarke.
