SHOW ME THE BODY Replace Aaron Heard’s ‘Je$us Piece’ On Upcoming ‘One Big Party’ Festival

The ongoing fallout from the split within Jesus Piece has taken another unexpected turn. Following months of public tension between vocalist Aaron Heard and his former bandmates, Heard’s new project Je$us Piece has now been dropped from the ‘One Big Party’ festival lineup in Phoenix, AZ.

The festival, set for October 25th, initially listed Je$us Piece as one of the performing acts. However, an update shared on October 3rd confirmed that Show Me The Body will now take their place on the bill.

The decision adds an ironic layer to the saga, given Heard’s earlier claims that his former bandmates had “tried to replace me when they left me at the border on the Show Me The Body tour.”

Back in August, David Updike, John DiStefano, and Luis Aponte—the remaining members of Jesus Piece—declared the band “dead,” accusing Heard of attempting to continue under the name without them. They stated:

“We are proud of everything we did and it changed our lives forever. To try and continue that without us or in spite of us, is a mockery of what we’ve done and tried to do.”

Heard later responded with his own statement, addressing his differences with the group and expressing his intention to perform with his iteration of Je$us Piece.

Now, with Show Me The Body stepping in, it seems the latest chapter in the ongoing drama has closed—for now.
