Jungle Rot Stream New Album ‘Cruel Face Of War’ Ahead Of Official Release

Jungle Rot have unexpectedly released their new studio album ‘Cruel Face Of War’ several days ahead of its originally scheduled May 15 release date.

The Midwestern death metal veterans made the album available digitally this week, while physical editions are still expected to arrive this Friday as planned.

Frontman Dave Matrise reflected on both the album and the longevity of the band in a statement accompanying the surprise release:

“Let’s start off by saying what an amazing accomplishment it is to hit 12 releases in my career. Never would I think I’d still be doing this 30+ years later.”

Matrise also thanked the band’s longtime supporters and current lineup for helping sustain Jungle Rot throughout the decades:

“I’m very grateful to all of our fans that have supported us for so many years and for never giving up on us.”

He continued by emphasizing the band’s commitment to their signature style of old-school death metal:

“We are still here playing our trademark style of old school death metal that has carved a legendary name for us in the underground scene today.”

As for the album itself, Matrise promised a particularly aggressive and groove-heavy effort:

“‘Cruel Face Of War’ will not disappoint. It’s full of crushing grooves and violent hooks that will surely break anyone’s neck.”

To support the release, Jungle Rot have lined up an extensive European touring schedule spanning festival appearances and club dates throughout the summer alongside KHNVM and Rats Of Gomorrah on select runs.
