Midwestern death metal veterans Jungle Rot have dropped another preview of their upcoming record, debuting the new single “Maniacal” alongside an official music video.
The track serves as the second offering from the band’s next studio album, ‘Cruel Face Of War’, which is set to arrive on May 15th via Unique Leader Records.
Speaking on the new single, vocalist/guitarist Dave Matrise highlighted the track’s relentless energy and groove-driven approach:
“‘Maniacal‘ is one of those songs that just hits you in the face over and over when you’re listening to it. It is full of nonstop groove and violence just the way we like it… I’ve always been a fan of music with more of a groovier side to it. ‘Maniacal‘ is the perfect blend of old school groove to make it a fan favorite.
When writing ‘Maniacal‘ I wanted it to be a more of a in-the-pocket kinda song. With a drum beat that gets your head banging without even trying.”
With ‘Cruel Face Of War’ now less than a month away, “Maniacal” offers another glimpse into what fans can expect from Jungle Rot’s latest chapter—leaning heavily into groove while maintaining the band’s signature aggression.
