Kid Rock has once again taken aim at Live Nation and Ticketmaster, urging other artists—including Pearl Jam—to join the ongoing FTC lawsuit against the companies. The diamond-certified musician has been a vocal participant in recent efforts by the Trump administration to investigate and challenge alleged monopolistic and deceptive ticketing practices across the U.S.
Ticket scalping and inflated secondary market pricing have long been a pain point for both fans and artists, an issue that’s only grown worse with modern reselling platforms and bots. With record sales and streaming revenue providing limited returns for most acts, touring has become a vital income source—often leaving musicians operating within systems dominated by large promoters and venue owners.
Back in December 2024, Rock met with U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, pledging to help overhaul what he called the “fiasco of buying concert tickets.” At that time, he vowed to go after “bots, scalpers, venues, ticketing companies, managers, and artists alike who rip off and deceive the public.”
That meeting preceded a March 2025 executive order signed by President Donald Trump, directing the FTC and Department of Justice to investigate price-gouging and transparency issues within the ticketing industry. The resulting FTC lawsuit, filed this past September, accuses Live Nation and Ticketmaster of using deceptive pricing tactics and profiting from illegally acquired tickets—allegedly costing consumers billions in inflated fees.
In a new video shared to Instagram on October 07th, Rock praised the move while calling on artists like Pearl Jam—who famously battled Ticketmaster in the 1990s—to join the fight. He also suggested exploring the use of “proof of humanity” tools such as The Orb, which he claims could help eliminate scalper bots and fraudulent resales.
Rock stated:
“They filed a fcking lawsuit against Ticketmaster because clearly they found out those motherfckers are crooks, and they’ve been crooks for decades. Fcking over the public. Fcking over artists.”
“I don’t know if breaking Ticketmaster up solves the problem… but it’s a step in the right direction. I hope they go down to the bottom, and I hope we can fix ticketing so artists can set fair prices and fans actually get the tickets.”
Rock closed his message by challenging artists who’ve historically criticized corporate ticketing structures to “step up,” specifically naming Pearl Jam, who famously opposed Ticketmaster in 1994 for what they called monopolistic control over ticket sales.
“Let’s see if Pearl Jam steps up,” Rock said. “They wanted to fix ticketing years ago. All these other presidents could’ve done something… Trump did. We are. Let’s see what happens. Rock on.”

Kid rock is kind of a moron but on this he’s 100% right.

F Ticketmaster
Good. Sue them into non existence. No reason I need to pay for a $75 concert ticket and then $80 in fees.
I’m surprised he cares so much, the bars he plays at aren’t on Ticketmaster
