YOB are preparing to return to the studio later this year to begin work on their long-awaited follow-up to ‘Our Raw Heart’.
The progressive doom metal veterans’ drummer Dave French recently provided an update on the band’s plans during an appearance on the ‘Mostly Yelling’ podcast hosted by Greg Kennelty.
While the conversation primarily focused on French’s solo project Semantron and its new album ‘Secrets Of A Krummholz Heart’, the drummer also revealed that YOB have studio sessions planned and are aiming for a new record in 2027.
French also touched on the possibility of reviving Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth, his project featuring Tad Doyle and others, while discussing his continued interest in making more music with the group.
“Well, yeah, we’re going into the studio pretty darn soon, YOB. We’re going in later this year. In no time, we’re going in the studio. We’re gonna be putting a new record out early next year. Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth — I’m still hopeful, man. I’m still hopeful. We talk about it every once in a while. If I had the time right now, I would just instigate it — just say, here’s the drum parts, all recorded and ready to go. Exactly.”
The upcoming album will serve as YOB’s first full-length release since ‘Our Raw Heart’, which arrived in 2018.
