Heavy metal legend King Diamond has unveiled a haunting music video for his latest single, “Spider Lilly”. Fresh off a fall tour together, Danish multi-instrumentalist Myrkur lends her ethereal backing vocals to the track. The eerie visual was brought to life by director David Brodsky (Cattle Decapitation, Entheos).
Some of the video’s filming took place at the infamous Pennhurst Asylum in Spring City, PA, just two days before Halloween. Reflecting on the experience, King Diamond shared:
“What a dark but great experience. Hopefully, that was not the last video we will be able to film there. There are already several tales waiting to be told about all that has happened before, during, and after the birth of the song ‘Spider Lilly’.”
The track, mixed by Arthur Rizk (Soulfly, Code Orange), offers the first glimpse into an ambitious new horror trilogy from King Diamond. The series’ inaugural release is titled Saint Lucifer’s Hospital 1920 and promises more chills to come.
