Death metal supergroup Left To Die have premiered another track from their forthcoming debut album, ‘Initium Mortis’, unveiling the new single “Witch Of Hell.”
Formed as a tribute to and continuation of the spirit of early Death, the group features a lineup stacked with death metal veterans, including Terry Butler (Obituary), Rick Rozz (formerly of Massacre), Matt Harvey (Exhumed, Gruesome) and Gus Rios (Gruesome, formerly of Malevolent Creation).
Speaking about the newly released song, Butler praised its adherence to classic death metal fundamentals.
“‘Witch Of Hell’ is a straight up banger. No frills old school death metal at its finest. This is how it’s done and it would be a blueprint for future death/thrash bands!”
The track serves as another preview of ‘Initium Mortis’, which is scheduled to arrive on July 17 through Relapse Records. The album marks the first full-length release from the project, which has steadily built momentum through touring and its faithful celebration of the formative years of Death’s influential catalog.
In addition to the album release, Left To Die have already announced plans for both European and Latin American touring in support of the record.
With ‘Initium Mortis’ now just weeks away, “Witch Of Hell” offers another glimpse at the band’s old-school approach, combining the raw aggression and thrash-infused attack that helped define the earliest era of death metal.
