Machine Head will kick off their upcoming Australian run with an unexpected lineup shift. In a post shared yesterday (November 27th), vocalist/guitarist Robb Flynn revealed that the band will perform as a trio for the opening stretch of their six-date trek due to multiple unforeseen setbacks.
According to Flynn, the guitarist the band had hired for this run encountered a sudden family emergency, preventing him from making the first three shows. That fill-in had originally been brought aboard after guitarist Reece Scruggs chose to remain home to support his father during his ongoing battle with cancer. Producer and musician Zack Ohren—who has previously stepped in and collaborated with the band—was also unable to join the tour after experiencing a health issue of his own.
Flynn laid out the situation in detail, assuring fans that the shows will go on while expressing appreciation for everyone’s understanding as the band adapts in real time.
The Australian dates are as follows:

11/29 Perth, AUS – Astor Theatre
12/01 Sunshine Coast – The Station
12/03 Canberra, AUS – UC Refectory
12/05 Melbourne, AUS – Good Things Festival
