Marilyn Manson is facing fresh criticism from UK politicians over his scheduled appearance alongside Slipknot at Wembley Stadium in London next summer, with a local councilor questioning what steps were taken to consider the allegations against the shock rocker before confirming the booking.
Manson is scheduled to perform as direct support for Slipknot at the July 3, 2027, show, which will also feature Lorna Shore and Hatebreed. The concert is drawing scrutiny amid ongoing legal disputes involving Manson, who has faced multiple civil lawsuits alleging sexual assault and other misconduct over the past five years.
Manson has denied the allegations. Several cases have reportedly been settled or dismissed, while two remain ongoing.
The Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office Sex Crimes Division previously investigated allegations involving Manson but declined to file charges. The decision was attributed to statute-of-limitations issues and an inability to prove the allegations beyond a reasonable doubt.
The controversy has also affected Manson’s UK bookings in the past. In 2025, local politicians and activists called for some of his performances to be canceled, and a scheduled show in Brighton, England, was ultimately scrapped amid local opposition.
Now, Anton Georgiou, a councilor representing the area where Wembley Stadium is located, has questioned the venue’s decision to book Manson and criticized the lack of a public response from the local council.
“We cannot keep saying that tackling violence against women and girls is everyone’s business and then fail to ask difficult questions when it really matters. It’s disappointing that the council has not spoken out publicly about this.
The allegations against Marilyn Manson are serious, and while he denies wrongdoing, Wembley Stadium needs to explain what consideration was given to them before this booking was confirmed. It also needs to consider the message this sends to survivors of abuse.”
A spokesperson for Brent Council responded by emphasizing that the authority does not control commercial bookings at Wembley Stadium, while reaffirming its stated commitment to preventing abuse and supporting survivors.
“Decisions about who performs at Wembley Stadium are ultimately a matter for the venue and event organisers, rather than Brent Council, which has no direct control over commercial bookings. That does not diminish our commitment to tackling violence against women and girls, which has no place in Brent. We are crystal clear about our values, and that is why we devote significant time, resources and effort to preventing abuse, supporting survivors and making our borough safer.”
With Manson’s appearance on Slipknot’s Wembley bill now facing renewed scrutiny, the debate over his place on the lineup continues. The show remains scheduled for July 3, 2027, with no cancellation announced in the information currently available.
