Mastodon Announce ‘The Poisonous Weapons Tour’ With Deafheaven & Alcest

Following the release of their new single “Your Ghost Again,” progressive sludge metal heavyweights Mastodon have officially unveiled a major North American headlining run dubbed The Poisonous Weapons Tour. The trek arrives in mid-September and stretches into October, bringing together a genre-spanning package rooted in black metal, post-black atmospherics, and progressive heaviness.

On this run, Mastodon will be joined by blackgaze innovators Deafheaven as direct support, with French post-black metal project Alcest opening each night. The lineup positions the tour as one of the most stylistically diverse metal bills of the fall season, blending crushing heaviness with expansive, melodic textures.

The announcement follows the debut of “Your Ghost Again,” continuing a new creative chapter for Mastodon as they step further into their evolving post-Brent Hinds era.
