Mastodon traded their usual progressive sludge metal for a baseball classic last night, September 08th, when members of the GRAMMY Award-winning Atlanta band took part in the festivities at Truist Park.
The group was invited to perform “Take Me Out To The Ball Game” during the seventh-inning stretch as the Atlanta Braves hosted the Tampa Bay Rays.
Footage of the unusual performance has since surfaced online and can be watched below.
While Mastodon delivered for the hometown crowd, the evening ultimately ended in disappointment for the Braves, who were unable to secure the win against Tampa Bay.
