Metallica are keeping their massive M72 World Tour rolling into 2027, announcing 12 additional North American stadium shows with Limp Bizkit returning as direct support and Swedish alternative metal outfit Avatar once again opening the festivities.
The newly announced run will kick off May 8 in Vancouver, BC, and visit stadiums across the United States and Canada before wrapping up June 19 in Salt Lake City, UT.
Metallica said of the upcoming shows:
“We have been having so much fun on the road that we’re going to keep M72 rolling! We’ve added 12 additional North American shows in 2027, and we’ll be joined by tour buddies Limp Bizkit and Avatar, who are returning to our M72 party.”
The shows will feature the band’s signature in-the-round stadium production, with the stage positioned at the 50-yard line and the Snake Pit located at the center to provide fans with a 360-degree view of the performance.
The band noted that the 2027 dates will consist of single-show engagements at a mix of NFL and CFL stadiums, college stadiums, and venues that serve as home fields for men’s and women’s soccer teams.
“Since we got started in April of 2023, we’ve played 99 M72 shows in 26 countries. This time around, we’ll be playing single shows, visiting a mix of NFL/CFL stadiums, colleges, and the homes of both men’s and women’s soccer teams.”
As with previous M72 dates, a portion of proceeds from every ticket sold will benefit local charitable organizations through All Within My Hands, Metallica’s foundation.
The band says All Within My Hands has raised more than $20 million since its establishment in 2017, including funding for career and technical education, food insecurity programs, disaster relief, and other local services.
The Metallica fan club presale begins Monday, September 21 at 10:00 a.m. local time, followed by Citi cardholder and Verizon Access presales on Tuesday, September 22 at 10:00 a.m. local time. General public tickets go on sale Friday, September 25 at 10:00 a.m. local time.
