Danish blackgaze outfit MØL have premiered their new single “CRUSH”, unveiling the track alongside its official music video. The song is taken from the band’s forthcoming full-length album DREAMCRUSH, which is set for release on January 30th via Nuclear Blast.
Expanding on the meaning behind the track, guitarist Nicolai Hansen explained that “CRUSH” captures the emotional balance the band has long aimed to strike in their sound:
“‘CRUSH’ encapsulates in many ways the dichotomy we as a band always have sought to balance — the journey between melancholy and jubilee, uplifting beauty and devastation.
It is a gradual change or undoing of the known over time. The gravitational push and pull between the individual and the world. An acceptance of the many grey days, the mundane. Right there in the embrace of the chaos within the nuances of blues and yellows, we might discover small hints of slow emerging greens. Of beginning growth.”
With DREAMCRUSH on the horizon, “CRUSH” offers another glimpse into MØL’s evolving sound, blending sweeping atmospheres with crushing intensity.
