The certifications, awarded by the RIAA on July 11th, recognize the continued streaming and sales strength of the album’s standout singles in the United States.

For context: A platinum album or single in the United States signifies 1,000,000 units moved, while gold represents 500,000 units. These totals factor in not only traditional physical and digital sales but also streaming equivalents — 10 permanent track downloads equals 1 unit, while 1,500 on-demand audio or video streams from a specific album also counts as 1 unit.

The night even included a dagger-themed outro teased by the band in advance.
