German death metal/deathcore outfit Necrotted found an entertaining solution to an unexpected lineup issue during their August 22nd appearance at the ‘Fallen Fortress Open Air’ in Bad Dürkheim, Germany.
With drummer Markus Braun feeling under the weather and unable to perform, the band proceeded with his recorded drum parts playing through backing tracks. Rather than simply letting the tracks run throughout the set, however, Necrotted decided to bring some fans into the action.
Throughout the performance, the band invited various members of the audience onto the stage to air drum along to Braun’s parts, turning what could have been an awkward situation into an unusual bit of festival entertainment.
Fan-shot footage from the performance has since been shared by Necrotted, showcasing several of the impromptu drummers getting their moment onstage.
Following the show, the band thanked those who stepped up for the occasion:
“We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the fantastic session air drummer and, of course, everyone in the crowd who partied so hard with us!”
