Nile were forced to cancel their June 10th show in Marseille, France, after arriving at the venue and finding it unfit for both the band and the number of tickets sold. The South Carolina death metal veterans were scheduled to perform at Le Molotov, but pulled the plug on the gig due to safety and logistical concerns.
The band shared the following statement:
“Nile was very much looking forward to playing the show in Marseille today. Unfortunately, upon arriving at the venue in the morning, we were dismayed to learn that the venue was simply not of adequate size or capacity for either the band or the amount of tickets sold. We deeply regret having to cancel the show. Our sincerest apologies to the fans who we were looking forward to seeing, and to the promoter, Pierre, we sincerely appreciate your efforts to make the show possible. Hopefully, we can return to Marseille when we tour Europe again in 2026.”
Nile are currently on a European tour in support of their upcoming album The Underworld Awaits Us All, which is due out August 23rd via Napalm Records.
