Deathgrind outfit No/Más have quietly released a new two-track EP featuring covers of hardcore punk legends Bad Brains.
The release includes No/Más’ takes on “Banned In D.C.” and “Attitude,” both staples of the pioneering D.C. hardcore group’s catalog. “Banned In D.C.” previously surfaced via a Decibel magazine flexi disc and made its digital debut earlier this year.
In a statement, No/Más reflected on the influence of Bad Brains and their importance within the DMV punk and hardcore scene.
“Some of us fundamentally grew up listening to the Bad Brains. Growing up in the DMV, they were the first punk band that exposed us to that level of raw energy. It wasn’t just music to us — it was a way to be heard, understood, feel free, rage, and protest. That’s still how we feel today.”
The EP serves as a direct tribute to one of hardcore punk’s most influential bands, reinterpreted through No/Más’ heavier deathgrind lens.
