Obscura has announced their seventh studio album, A Sonication, which is set for release on February 7, 2024, via Nuclear Blast. Serving as the second entry in their ambitious trilogy that began with A Valediction in 2021, this record promises to expand on the band’s intricate technical death metal sound.
The album’s lead single, “Silver Linings”, is now streaming alongside a visually captivating music video directed by Grupa13. Steffen Kummerer, the band’s mastermind, shared that this project continues their exploration of deeply personal and philosophical themes through technical precision and melodic prowess:
“With ‘Silver Linings‘ we present you the first track of our brand new album A Sonication, which sees the light of day in early 2025. Supporting the new record, Obscura will embark on the first leg of a world tour in February next year. Lend your ear to the music, and see you at a venue near you!”
