ORTHODOX Drop “One Less Body” Featuring MASTODON’s Brann Dailor

Orthodox have delivered one of their boldest tracks to date with “One Less Body”, a standout from their newly released full-length A Door Left Open. The Nashville-based nü-metalcore crew took an experimental turn on this one, inviting Brann Dailor of Mastodon to lend his unmistakable voice to the song’s atmospheric bridge.

Orthodox drummer Mike White reflected on the creative process, stating:

“This track is definitely the oddball on the record. Most of it was written in the studio and effectively executed with guidance of Randy [LeBoeuf, producer]. Lots of ‘What if?’ riffs tossed around for this one—no rules. Brann’s vocals expand on that by adding a powerful yet atmospheric bridge unlike anything Orthodox has done before.”

The track’s visual accompaniment was co-directed by White alongside Josh Richter, continuing the band’s hands-on approach to their creative output.

Dailor joins a growing list of Mastodon members stepping outside the fold this year—Troy Sanders has already appeared on 2025 tracks by URNE and Mark Morton of Lamb Of God.

Orthodox will hit the road later this month in support of A Door Left Open with a stacked lineup featuring Mugshot, Omerta, and fromjoy. Dates for that tour are as follows:
