‘Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home’ Documentary Postponed Hours Before Premiere

The highly anticipated documentary ‘Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home’, centered on the late Ozzy Osbourne, was set to premiere today, August 18th, but has been postponed just hours ahead of its scheduled debut. The BBC had been set to air the special, though the network has since pulled it from the lineup without providing an explanation.

Originally filmed over a three-year span under the working title ‘Home To Roost’, the project initially aimed to follow the Osbourne family’s move back to the UK from the United States. However, as Ozzy’s health declined, the series shifted into a full-length documentary exploring his final years.

Earlier this month, Clare Sillery, BBC Head of Commissioning, Documentaries, spoke about the project:

“We are honoured to have had the opportunity to film with Ozzy and his family. The film captures an intimate glimpse into their journey as they prepare to return to the UK. It features family moments, humour, reflection and shows the enduring spirit that made Ozzy a global icon. We hope it brings comfort and joy to Ozzy’s fans and viewers as they remember and celebrate his extraordinary life.”

Osbourne passed away on July 22nd from cardiac arrest, just weeks after his all-star farewell concert that celebrated both his legendary solo career and his groundbreaking work with Black Sabbath.
