Periphery Guitarist Jake Bowen To Miss Upcoming European Tour

Periphery guitarist Jake Bowen has announced that he will not be joining the band’s upcoming European and UK touring run due to a serious illness affecting a member of his family.

Bowen, who has been with the band since its early years and is one of the longest-tenured members of the lineup, shared the news in a video message to fans. According to the guitarist, the decision was made after discussions with his bandmates, who agreed that remaining close to home is the best course of action while his family deals with the situation.

“I just wanted to let everyone know that I will not be coming on the upcoming European tour. Someone in my family is dealing with a very serious illness and after speaking with the guys, we all agree that it’s not a great idea for me to leave the country right now.

“With that said, I know that the band is going to crush it in my absence and I’m currently recording all my parts for them so that way I’m there in spirit. I appreciate everybody understanding and I hope to see you all on the road soon. Thanks.”

Despite Bowen’s absence, the tour will proceed as planned. The guitarist revealed that he is recording his parts in advance, allowing the band to incorporate them into the live performances while he remains with his family.

The run begins later this month with appearances at several major European festivals, including Download Festival, Hellfest, Graspop Metal Meeting, and Brutal Assault.
