Poison The Well Debut Video First New Song In 15 Years “Trembling Level”, Add Two New U.S. Tour Dates

Poison The Well have officially returned with their first new song in 15 years. Titled “Trembling Level,” the track marks the band’s long-awaited follow-up to 2009’s The Tropic Rot and serves as the first preview of their upcoming sixth studio album. The Florida metalcore pioneers initially teased their return last summer, hinting at new material via a note included in their vinyl box set.

Produced by GRAMMY-winning musician and producer Will Putney (Better Lovers, Fit For An Autopsy), “Trembling Level” arrives via the band’s newly inked deal with SharpTone Records. A music video for the song was directed by Eric Richter (Evanescence, Knocked Loose).

Notably, former guitarist Derek Miller is credited as one of the songwriters on the track, alongside drummer Christopher Hornbrook, vocalist Jeffrey Moreira, and guitarist Ryan Primack. Miller, who departed in 2004, briefly reunited with the band in 2015 but has since focused on his work with Sleigh Bells, the duo he co-founded.

Primack offered the followong on the song:

“For me, I was trying to figure how to effectively incorporate elements from our whole discography into one song. We ended up with this, and it has a little bit of everything we’ve done throughout the course of our existence.”

Moreira added:

“Lyrically, it’s about tackling a fear. I tend to write based on personal experience. You’re approaching something you’re scared to do, going through it, and realizing the hardest parts are actually the ones you should be looking towards because those will lead you to success.”

Poison The Well have also expanded their official lineup, welcoming bassist Noah Harmon and guitarist Vadim Taver as full-time members.

In addition, the band has added two more dates to their upcoming spring North American tour, which celebrates the 25th anniversary of their landmark 1999 debut, The Opposite Of December… A Season Of Separation. The newly announced stops include April 3rd at The Nile Theater in Mesa, AZ, and April 13th at Liberty Hall in Lawrence, KS.
