Poppy has released her cover of Alanis Morissette’s “Hand In My Pocket,” now available to stream as part of a new tribute project tied to Morissette’s 1995 multi-platinum album Jagged Little Pill.
The cover appears on the official soundtrack for the Sumerian Pictures film Mile End Kicks, which uses Jagged Little Pill as a key narrative element in its story about an aspiring music journalist. The film is now available digitally.
In the lead-up to the film’s release, Sumerian Records have been rolling out a series of covers from Jagged Little Pill, featuring a wide range of artists reinterpreting the iconic album for the soundtrack. One of the earlier releases included melodic metalcore band Gore. covering “You Learn.”
Other artists contributing to the soundtrack include Avril Lavigne, Charlotte Sands, Lights, The Haunt, Taylor Acorn, and Bailey Spinn.
