PRIMER 55 Announce First Tour in Over a Decade, Celebrate 25 Years of ‘Introduction to Mayhem’

Primer 55 are officially back. The nü-metal outfit have announced their first run of live shows in over ten years, set to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their 2000 debut album Introduction to Mayhem.

This upcoming trek will mark a powerful return for the band — and a deeply personal one for founding guitarist/vocalist Bobby Burns, who spent much of 2023 and 2024 battling alcoholic liver failure, cirrhosis, and acidosis. Reflecting on the comeback, Burns shared:

“I had to absolutely destroy myself once again for this to be able to happen. Excited about tomorrow(s) and new music.”

Drummer Preston Nash emphasized the timing and legacy behind the return:

“The time felt right to bring this music to the stage again, and to celebrate what Bobby and J-Sin created and to add a new chapter to the P55 legacy.”

Bassist Joshua Toomey added:

“After almost losing Bobby with his health concerns, I couldn’t be happier to be announcing these shows. This is a celebration of the debut record and selfishly will be a great excuse to get in a room again with friends. I do wish J-Sin was here to see the rise in fandom of Nu Metal again and to see the younger fans of Primer 55.”

Current vocalist Donny “The DRP” Polinske also offered heartfelt thoughts on honoring the legacy of late frontman J-Sin:

“J-Sin is and will forever be a legend in my mind. He is the voice of Primer 55. I will not be trying to take over his throne… If you come out, I guarantee you it will be a great time, and I would love to have a shot of whisky and a drink with ya! RUCKUS!”
