Marvel’s ‘The Punisher: One Last Kill’ Features Music From Danzig And Hatebreed

A newly released Marvel featurette is drawing attention from heavy music fans thanks to a pair of notable soundtrack selections.

Released today, May 12th, on Disney+, The Punisher: One Last Kill sees Jon Bernthal reprise his role as Frank Castle/The Punisher, continuing the character’s storyline established through previous Marvel streaming projects and MCU appearances.

The opening sequence of The Punisher: One Last Kill is backed by Mother from Danzig, the iconic track originally released in 1988.

Later in the featurette, a particularly brutal fight scene is soundtracked by I Will Be Heard, the lead single from Hatebreed’s 2002 album Perseverance.

The inclusion of Hatebreed also serves as a subtle callback to Punisher: War Zone, whose soundtrack prominently featured metal and hard rock artists including Slayer, Slipknot, and Rob Zombie.

That soundtrack additionally featured Hatebreed’s cover of Refuse / Resist by Sepultura, making the latest needle drop feel like an intentional nod to the franchise’s heavier musical history.
