Reaping Asmodeia will mark their 15th anniversary next month with the arrival of their new EP, Metempsychosis, due out December 12th through Cardinal Sin. The effort gathers their recently issued singles — “Shattered Leviathan” and “Sanctuary Of Poison” — and adds a newly recorded cover of Chimaira’s 2005 single “Nothing Remains“.
Drummer Daniel Koppy explains:
“The 20th anniversary of Chimaira’s self-titled album just recently passed. They were a pinnacle band in the NWOAHM movement in the early and mid 2000s. We were heavily influenced by their sound and stage presence quite a bit in our formative years as musicians. We felt that it would be a lot of fun to put our spin on this classic riff heavy track by them. Twenty years later, ‘Nothing Remains’ is still as heavy as it ever was. We hope that we did it justice, while putting a little bit of our feel into the track.”
The EP will also include instrumental versions of all three tracks. A limited “scythe silver” vinyl variant is currently available for pre-order via the band’s Limited Run store.
