A planned stop of the Kid Rock-backed ‘Rock The Country’ festival — originally set for July 25th–26th in Anderson, SC — has been scrapped, marking another setback for the politically polarizing touring event.
Local officials confirmed the cancellation, citing “unforeseen circumstances.” Anderson County Administrator Rusty Burns addressed the situation in a statement provided to regional media:
“Anderson County has been proud to host Rock the Country for the past two years. The event was a huge success drawing tens of thousands of visitors, making a multi-million-dollar economic impact on the Upstate. An event of this caliber proved what a great venue and exceptional hospitality we have here in Anderson County. Of course, we are disappointed that Rock the Country will not return to Anderson this year.
We are already planning additional major events and look forward to exciting announcements to come. Anderson County is committed to bringing high quality arts and entertainment to our community.”
The Anderson dates have since been removed from the festival’s official website schedule. The two-day lineup had been announced earlier this year with Creed slated to headline Saturday and Shinedown topping Sunday’s bill alongside a genre-mixed roster.

The cancellation follows mounting turbulence around the festival’s lineup. Several artists have stepped away from the event in recent weeks amid public backlash surrounding its political associations. Ludacris was among the first to withdraw, with his camp attributing the booking to a scheduling mix-up. Morgan Wade and Faith Carter later followed suit.
Earlier today (February 06th), Shinedown also confirmed their departure, stating in part:
“We have one BOSS, and it is everyone in the audience. Our band’s purpose is to unite, not divide. With that in mind, we have made the decision that we will not be playing the Rock The Country Festival.”
Despite the Anderson stop being pulled, the remaining seven dates on the festival’s schedule are still expected to proceed. In addition to Kid Rock, other rock-adjacent performers currently attached to the broader run include Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aaron Lewis (performing solo with The Stateliners), and Danny Worsnop of Asking Alexandria.

Shinedown was the only band I liked on that halftime show. It’s good they bailed on that show because they probably would have been viewed as MAGA Shinedown by many had they played.
