Falling In Reverse frontman Ronnie Radke has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to fire shots at Spiritbox and vocalist Courtney LaPlante following the band’s Grammy nomination for ‘Best Metal Performance‘.
Radke, who has previously clashed with Spiritbox, referenced the band’s past decision to drop off his tour after controversy surrounding his language and online behavior. He commented in the tweet:
“Y’all can get Spinelessbox to drop off my tour cuz I said tranny gay fag retard, but can’t stop me from winning a billboard award and can’t help them to win a Grammy. Got it.”
When a user sarcastically questioned why Falling In Reverse had not received a Grammy nomination, Radke replied:
“I’m not a black trans woman I’ll never get nominated.”
In contrast, LaPlante has been vocal in her support of trans rights, frequently addressing the topic online. When a user attempted to dismiss her activism by telling her to “stick to music“, she clapped back, mocking the individual’s profile image with:
“Seat’s taken, Anime Jesus.”
While Gojira ultimately took home the ‘Best Metal Performance‘ award for “Ah Ça Ira”, LaPlante expressed gratitude for Spiritbox’s nomination, sharing a celebratory photo with bandmate Mike Stringer rather than any disappointment over the loss.
Spiritbox is set to kick off their European tour on February 13th in London, with their new album, Tsunami Sea, slated for release on March 7th.
