Saosin have returned with their second new song in more than a decade, releasing “Just Be Honest” alongside a new music video directed by the band’s own bassist, Chris Sorenson.
The new track follows “Starting Over Again,” which arrived in April and marked the gold-certified post-hardcore outfit’s first new music in over ten years.
Guitarist Beau Burchell says the latest single quickly stood out during its creation, with the contributions from vocalist Cove Reber and guitarist Phil Sgrosso helping take the track to another level.
“We knew there was something special about ‘Just Be Honest’ from the moment of its inception. It had that rare feeling early on where you just know a song is going to matter on an album.
“Hearing Cove’s vocals on it for the first time confirmed it, and then Phil’s leads gave it that extra push. The whole thing blossomed into something bigger than we imagined.”
Burchell also teased that “Just Be Honest” is only the start of what Saosin have planned, describing the new music as the beginning of a “much bigger body of work” and a new era for the band.
Before fully shifting their attention toward that new material, however, Saosin have a major anniversary run ahead of them. The band will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut album on tour with Silent Planet, Like Moths To Flames and SAVE US.
