Silent Planet have entered the ongoing debate surrounding All That Remains frontman Phil Labonte’s controversial remarks about therapy, taking aim at political commentator Tim Pool after he publicly endorsed Labonte’s position.
The discussion stems from comments Labonte made earlier this month on the Today’s Boondoggle Podcast, where the vocalist argued that men solve problems through action rather than conversation and controversially declared that “therapy is for women.” The remarks generated significant backlash online and prompted responses from fans and fellow musicians alike.
Among those criticizing the stance was former Cradle Of Filth keyboardist and mental health advocate Lindsay Schoolcraft, who labeled Labonte’s comments “extreme toxic” and suggested he could benefit from therapy himself. Labonte later doubled down on his position in a video response, sarcastically reiterating his now-infamous line.
The latest chapter in the controversy unfolded after Tim Pool, a longtime friend and collaborator of Labonte’s through the Timcast podcast, shared his own support for the singer’s views on social media, writing:
“therapy is not for men thats it”
That statement drew a sharp response from Silent Planet, whose official X account wrote:
“I exclusively take mental health advice from podcasters who are afraid to take off their hats and are funded by Russia. by the way, just played some shows in Ukraine and it was great. met a man with his legs blown off by your beloved Russian army and he is still taller than you.”
The post quickly sparked heated reactions online, with supporters and critics weighing in. Vocalist Garrett Russell also personally engaged with detractors in subsequent exchanges.

The band’s comments appear to reference allegations surrounding the 2024 Tenet Media controversy. Silent Planet, who recently performed two shows in Ukraine, have long incorporated social and political issues into their music and activism. Late last year, the band used proceeds tied to their song “Wick” to benefit Ukrainian children affected by Russia’s ongoing invasion.
