Russian deathcore outfit Slaughter To Prevail are facing mounting pressure from local politicians and activist groups in Sweden, with calls being made to cancel the band’s scheduled performance in Stockholm today, January 30th.
According to Swedish broadcaster SVT, the Nordic Ukraine Forum has urged for the show to be shut down, citing what they describe as the band’s continued and visible ties to Russia. At the center of the criticism are various merchandise items sold by the band and frontman Alex Terrible, some of which reportedly feature the Russian coat of arms and other national symbols.
SVT further alleges that Terrible has been seen wearing apparel from a Russian clothing brand whose owner has been awarded a medal for their direct support of Russia’s ongoing war efforts in Ukraine. Additional scrutiny has been directed at Terrible’s Russia-based mask-making business, as well as his associations with Russian bare-knuckle fighting leagues.
While Terrible’s frequent onstage expressions of pride in his homeland have previously drawn controversy, he has publicly condemned the war in Ukraine. In March of last year, he described himself as a “man of peace,” while stating that he still maintains pride in where he comes from.
Stockholm city councilor Christofer Fjellner has since voiced opposition to the band being allowed to perform, alleging that Slaughter To Prevail are contributing to the spread of Russian propaganda. Live Nation, who are promoting the event, have also faced criticism amid the growing backlash.
Stockholm mayor Karin Wanngård echoed those concerns in comments to SVT, stating:
“The city’s premises are not a place to spread anti-democratic messages. It is the organizer’s responsibility to ensure that democratic conditions are followed and the city has a dialogue with the organizer to ensure that this also happens during the event in question.”
As of publication time, the Stockholm show has not been officially canceled.
Slaughter To Prevail are currently touring Europe and the UK alongside Dying Fetus and Suicide Silence, with the following dates remaining on the itinerary:

if the frontman continues to have business in russia, and was invited to visit russian military school (2025) and pay a tribute to ruzzian soldiers who got killed in Ukraine, it doesn’t look like he is against war for real. instead, he tries to sit on two chairs.Media: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=122242865588043249&set=p.122242865588043249&type=3
Bondar Ganna paying respects to individual soldiers who died (especially conscripts or those who had little choice) doesn’t automatically mean endorsing the war itself or the leadership that sent them.
sorry, you seem to be really naive. do you think russians who are really opposing war are allowed to visit military institutions freely like this? and do you actually know whether these soldiers committed atrocities or not?
you are just a living illustration that russian propaganda worked beautifully! you idolize stp to the extent that you are ready to excuse anything that they do. which is exactly the point. normalization of russian atrocities in action.
Justin are you really idiot or just playing full ?
