Masked British outfit Sleep Token have officially reached a major new milestone in the United States, earning their first platinum certification in the territory.
The band previously made waves with their latest album ‘Even In Arcadia’, which debuted at #1 in the U.S. upon its release last May. That record later achieved gold certification this past January, but it wasn’t the release that pushed them into platinum territory.
Instead, the honor belongs to their breakout single “The Summoning”, taken from their third studio album ‘Take Me Back To Eden’. The track has steadily grown into the band’s biggest crossover success, previously securing gold status in December 2024.
Now, as of April 10th, the Recording Industry Association of America has officially certified “The Summoning” platinum—marking the first time Sleep Token have reached that level in the United States.
For context, a platinum certification in the U.S. represents 1,000,000 units moved, while gold signifies 500,000 units. These totals combine traditional album and single sales with streaming equivalents, where 10 track downloads equal one unit and 1,500 on-demand streams count as an album unit. Additionally, 150 streams of a song equal one track-equivalent unit.
With “The Summoning” continuing to resonate across streaming platforms and radio alike, this milestone further cements Sleep Token’s rapid rise within the modern metal landscape.
