Soundgarden will reunite onstage in their hometown of Seattle, WA this September for a special NFL halftime performance, with members of Pearl Jam and The Pretty Reckless joining them.
The surviving core lineup of the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductees — guitarist Kim Thayil, bassist/vocalist Ben Shepherd and drummer/vocalist Matt Cameron — will perform during the Seattle Seahawks’ September 09th matchup against the New England Patriots at Lumen Field.
The Pretty Reckless frontwoman Taylor Momsen will once again handle vocal duties for the performance, having previously stepped into the role with Soundgarden. Pearl Jam guitarist/vocalist Mike McCready is also set to join the lineup for the abbreviated set.
The performance will mark another significant appearance for the surviving members of Soundgarden, who continue to work on completing their final album featuring the late Chris Cornell. The record is expected to serve as a posthumous release honoring the band’s iconic vocalist.
The group previously revealed that they have been focused on completing the album in a way that remains true to Cornell’s contributions and legacy.
