Spiritbox vocalist Courtney LaPlante halted the band’s performance in Phoenix, Arizona last week after an allegedly violent concertgoer was seen assaulting other fans in the pit.
The incident occurred on July 15 during the band’s set at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre, just before a closing performance of “Soft Spine.” According to fan reports and video footage circulating online, one attendee was repeatedly behaving aggressively in the crowd and reportedly knocked at least one person to the ground.
After being alerted to the situation by drummer Zev Rose, LaPlante immediately paused the show and called for the individual to be identified and removed before the performance could continue.
Addressing the crowd from the stage, LaPlante made it clear that fan safety was the priority and urged concertgoers to point out the person responsible. Security quickly moved in to locate and eject the individual.
She also checked on one of the fans involved in the incident, reminding the audience that live shows should be a safe environment and reinforcing the long-standing concert etiquette of helping others when they fall in the pit.
The moment has since gained traction online, with many fans praising LaPlante and the band for taking immediate action rather than allowing the situation to escalate further.
Spiritbox are currently on the road supporting Evanescence alongside Nova Twins, with several dates remaining on the summer trek.
