Staind have released the official music video for their new single “Ghosts,” offering fans another taste of the band’s forthcoming album. The new track arrived today and is expected to appear on the group’s next full-length effort, which they finished recording this past spring with producer Erik Ron (Godsmack, Papa Roach).
Guitarist Mike Mushok discussed how the song came together during a writing session in Nashville, where he and Ron developed the track in a single day before vocalist Aaron Lewis added his performance.
“We went down to Nashville for a writing trip with Erik. We had gotten together, and I came up with the riff on the spot. From there, Erik and I put the track together in just one day and finished it up. Aaron listened to it a little later and did this really great vocal over it. ‘Ghosts’ ended up being a very dynamic song.”
Lewis also reflected on the track’s reception within the band, noting that it stood out during the creative process while still capturing the group’s signature sound.
“It seemed like everybody had gravitated towards ‘Ghosts’. It’s a little different, and it surprised all of us. It’s got some heavy elements, but it’s certainly melodic too. It’s definitely Staind.”
The release arrives as Staind continue celebrating the legacy of their multi-platinum catalog. The band recently announced an additional U.S. leg of their 25th anniversary tour for 2001’s “Break The Cycle,” extending the run into March and April 2027.
The anniversary trek features Seether, Hoobastank and Hinder as opening acts, with the newly announced dates retaining the same lineup. The current leg is set to wrap up next week before the tour resumes in New Hampshire on March 4, 2027. Hinder will not perform at the April 16 show in Cleveland, Ohio.
