UK post-hardcore/screamo outfit Static Dress have officially signed with Sumerian Records, marking the announcement with the release of a new single titled “Human Props” alongside an accompanying music video.
The band shared a statement addressing their new partnership, emphasizing the long-standing support they’ve received from the label and its president Shawn Keith.
“Shawn [Keith, Sumerian Records president] and the rest of Sumerian have believed in Static Dress for years completely selflessly. Now, our paths have finally crossed at just the correct time, allowing us to execute this band in the way we always wanted to. No compromises, no forced ideas, no inauthenticities.
They run a label like a label should be ran; actual people promoting music for fans, not just a wannabe money printing machine.”
The music video for “Human Props” was co-directed by vocalist Olli Appleyard alongside Zak Pinchin, further reinforcing the band’s hands-on, DIY approach as they enter this new chapter.
