SUM 41’s “You Wanted War” Named Official Theme Song for AEW Dynamite

SUM 41 may have played their final show, but their legacy is far from fading. The legendary Canadian rock band’s hard-hitting track “You Wanted War” has officially been named the new theme song for All Elite Wrestling’s flagship program, AEW Dynamite.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of the band’s emotional farewell. SUM 41 recently capped off their decades-spanning run with a powerful performance and were formally inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame—a moment that served as both a celebration and a curtain call.

“You Wanted War”, taken from the band’s latest and final album Heaven :x: Hell, delivers exactly the kind of explosive energy that suits AEW’s high-octane, live wrestling product. With its mix of aggressive riffs, defiant lyrics, and signature Sum 41 bite, it’s a perfect fit for AEW Dynamite, which airs live every Wednesday at 8/7c on TBS and streams on Max.

While fans may still be processing the end of an era for SUM 41, this new chapter ensures their music remains in the spotlight—this time with a weekly stage surrounded by suplexes, superkicks, and storylines.

AEW has a strong track record of incorporating rock and metal into its branding, and the addition of “You Wanted War” only strengthens the promotion’s identity as a home for rebellion and attitude.

Stay tuned every Wednesday night to hear the track kick off the action on AEW Dynamite—and to feel the continued impact of SUM 41, long after the final bow.
