The Warriors have announced their sixth studio album, Burn Yourself Alive, set for release on March 28th via Pure Noise Records. The album follows 2019’s Monomyth and was co-produced by Don Phüry and the band’s own Roger Camero. A music video for the album’s first single, “My Blood,” has just premiered—watch it below.
Reflecting on the album’s themes, the band shared:
“We find ourselves in dark times indeed, but while we still have a heartbeat, we have the opportunity to create: better art, better music, and better forms of governance. Bukowski said, ‘Find what you love and let it kill you.’ Find your spark. Burn yourself alive.
Burn Yourself Alive also speaks to the forging fires of the creative process—the ‘war of art.’ Creativity is often a struggle, and the writing process for this album was no exception. In many ways, it was the most difficult record we’ve ever made.
We began this endeavor during a challenging period of transition. The creative process was punctuated by the loss of close family members, yet the balance of life was restored as two of our members became first-time fathers.”
Discussing the meaning behind “My Blood,” the band added:
“The day-to-day grind of the working class is draining on both a physical and spiritual level. But the truth is, we have the power within ourselves to break free from this vampiric paradigm. This sovereignty is available to anyone who dares to take the steps toward self-empowerment. Our blood is our life force, not their currency.”
