Swedish nü-metalcore outfit thrown have premiered the new music video for their latest single, “critic.”
The Midvessel-directed clip debuted today, August 13th, ahead of the song’s official arrival on streaming platforms tomorrow. The track takes aim at the constant stream of criticism, online discourse and manufactured controversy surrounding modern music culture.
A press release issued alongside the single offered the following description:
“Fueled by venomous vocals, bone-crushing grooves and explosive breakdowns, ‘critic’ is a ruthless response to a culture obsessed with opinions, metrics and manufactured controversy. Rather than entertaining the constant stream of unsolicited judgment, thrown turn every accusation, hot take, and clickbait headline into pure creative fuel.
With lines like ‘All of a sudden everyone’s a critic’ and ‘You really think I care if you don’t fuck with it?,’ the band makes one thing abundantly clear: Outside validation means nothing when the music speaks louder than the noise surrounding it.
Lyrically, ‘critic’ dismantles the obsession with streaming numbers, self-proclaimed experts and those desperately chasing relevance through negativity. It’s a fearless statement about staying true to your vision while refusing to be distracted by online outrage or empty commentary.”
