Thy Art Is Murder have officially ushered in the next chapter of their career with the release of “Squeeze,” the first studio track to feature new vocalist Jerry Grimefeld.
The Australian deathcore veterans initially caught fans off guard this past summer when they brought Grimefeld onstage for his live debut with the group. News subsequently emerged in August that the band had begun recording with their new frontman, and “Squeeze” now offers the first recorded glimpse of the revamped lineup.
Released through the band’s own Human Warfare label, the new single was tracked alongside GRAMMY Award-winning producer and musician Will Putney. The accompanying music video was directed by BRXDA.
Grimefeld also reflected on joining a band that played a significant role in shaping his musical path:
“Thy Art Is Murder has influenced me more than any other band in the world. ‘Hate’ sent me down the path I’m on today, so being part of this band now is surreal. I’m blessed to be here, and I can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on. We’re about to get ignorant with it.”
To mark the arrival of the new material, Thy Art Is Murder will also head out on a brief three-date Australian headlining run this December.
