Speculation around the future of Bad Wolves took another turn this month following comments from former vocalist Tommy Vext. Earlier this year, the band saw major changes when Doc Coyle and Kyle Konkiel announced their exits in April, followed by vocalist Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz, who officially joined Falling In Reverse this past June. That shift left drummer John Boecklin, guitarist Chris Cain, bassist Kevin Creekman, and guitarist/vocalist AJ Rebollo carrying the banner.

When Vext posted on social media hinting at lineup rebuilding with new members under Boecklin’s lead, many assumed he would be involved in the revamped roster. However, Vext set the record straight on August 18th, stating:
“Once again to clarify I AM NOT NOR DID I SAY I WAS REFORMING BAD WOLVES.
I am starting a new band with Chris on a new label with new management and a new name.
We are now auditioning members. Please stop misprinting and miss representing what is going on here. Thank you.”
Vext and Cain have been holding auditions throughout August, asking drummers, guitarists, and bassists to submit performances of “Learn To Live”, “I’ll Be There”, and “Truth Or Dare”—all tracks from the Bad Wolves catalog—as part of the selection process for their as-yet-unnamed new project.
Vext’s history with Bad Wolves remains complicated. His departure in 2021 was followed by dueling lawsuits that eventually settled, but fresh legal disputes resurfaced again in 2024, keeping tensions alive between the two camps.
