Fans of Australian genre-smashing outfit Twelve Foot Ninja may have noticed something strange this week—the band’s music has disappeared from several major streaming platforms. While the band officially disbanded in 2022, their catalog has remained popular among fans of alternative and progressive metal.
Guitarist Steve “Stevic” MacKay addressed the situation yesterday, June 19th, assuring listeners that the band is not behind the takedown and that he’s working to fix the issue:
“Twelve Foot Ninja’s music has unexpectedly been removed from streaming services. In my non defamatory opinion; a very silly sausage maneuver that does little more than annoy fans. I’m working on getting everything back on track asap. Sorry for the inconvenience – not of Twelve Foot Ninja’s doing. I will elaborate in due course – Stevic”
No further details have been revealed at this time, but Stevic’s comment suggests the matter may be legal or administrative in nature. Stay tuned as more information becomes available.
